Becky joined the IUHPFL team as an Administrative Coordinator in the fall of 2018. Her daughter, Katreen, is an enthusiastic alum of the 2014 Oviedo, Spain program. Both mother and daughter had a wonderful experience.
Becky grew up with her three siblings near Chicago, a first generation American to immigrant parents. She attended the University of Illinois as an undergraduate, earning a BS in Psychology before spending a year abroad, studying Arabic and tutoring at the American School in Damascus, Syria.
Upon returning to the States, she lived in Cleveland and Chapel Hill before settling down in Indianapolis with her family in 2002. She stayed busy as the fundraising chair for the local PTO and as a volunteer with the Red Cross Disaster Action Team during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
By 2014, she was working for a small nonprofit as the administrative coordinator and decided to return to school part-time in pursuit of a master’s degree in public administration. She is just a few credits from earning her MPA. She recently moved to Bloomington with her teenage son and Four, their 3-legged dog, to be closer to family and enjoy the community feel of a beautiful college town.
