Anneliese Toumey
Program Coordinator
Anneliese Toumey is the Program Coordinator for the IU Honors Program in Foreign Language (IUHPFL). She helps organize and coordinate study abroad programming for Indiana high school students and communicates with students, parents, and instructors within the program.
Anneliese attended IU, graduating with degrees in Spanish and History in 2016. She studied abroad her junior year in Lima, Perú through IU’s undergraduate study abroad program. After college, Anneliese joined City Year San Antonio, tutoring and mentoring students at Rhodes Middle School. She then earned her graduate degree in teaching through the University of Wisconsin. She taught social studies and language arts in a dual language immersion program at Sherman Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin for three years. She then moved back to her hometown of Indianapolis to teach history at North Central High School for two years. Anneliese decided to move back to Bloomington where she became the Program Coordinator for IUHPFL.
Anneliese has always enjoyed working with and for young people and is excited to bring her teaching and language knowledge to IUHPFL. Outside of work, Anneliese enjoys cooking, running, swimming, and reading.
