Why did you decide to do IUHPFL? I chose to do IUHPFL because I recognized that it is a unique opportunity to learn not only the language of French but about the French way of life, food, history, and more. I am so privileged and grateful to have been offered such an opportunity, and it’s something I couldn’t let pass me by.
What are you most excited about? I am most excited to explore the streets of Saint-Brieuc with my friends during my free time.
What are you most nervous for? I am quite “bavarde” if you will, so I am nervous about having a lot of things to say but not having the correct vocabulary to express myself and my personality.
What is something interesting or unique about you? I love collecting different scarves. I think a beautiful scarf is a great way to elevate even the most basic of outfits into something eye-catching and memorable.
What is one goal you have for yourself this summer? I strive to write in my diary every night. I think it will be a precious way to hold on to this experience in its entirety and will allow my friends and family back home to better understand what it was like for me.
What’s your favorite French word or saying and why? My favorite French phrase is “je ne sais pas” because I find it fun to say it really fast like some French people do because it sounds like “ché pas.”
