Jane Meyer - León
León 2012 students on excursion in Salamanca.

Jane Meyer

León, Spain

I will always be indebted to this program for assisting Shelley, to propel her into the level and world of Spanish that she wishes to function in.

In six short weeks Shelley went from Ok Spanish, to native speaking Spanish literally. I would have thought Shelley was born in Spain, to hear her speak in Spanish when she got off the plane. She literally had difficulty speaking English. She did not know the American word for 20 when speaking to her father for the first time.

IUHPFL has made a major life change for my daughter and myself. I would not be surprised if my daughter chose a career that allowed her to live and work in Spain. Shelley was absorbed into her host family as a real family member. Her family taught her more Spanish through working with her, than any spanish textbook, or lecture by an English speaking person (nothing against the teachers with IUHPFL).

I will always be indebted to this program for assisting Shelley, to propel her into the level and world of Spanish that she wishes to function in. Thanks IUHPFL!
